Melvin Anthony is an extraordinary athlete with a god given gift for physique display. This compliments his fantastic shredded physique which is beyond compare in its aesthetics and proportion. A Mr. Olympia contender, he places high in all of his contests and swept the field for his first pro victory at the 2004 Night of Champions in New York. His most recent award was at the 2005 Iron Man Pro where he took the Vince Gironda Award For Outstanding Presentation.

A similar best presentation award was won at the 2003 Mr. Olympia.

This DVD profiles his career from the first time we taped him in 1999 at FIBO up to the 2005 Iron Man Pro. Further contest highlights and fantastic pump room footage from the last 6 years are also included along with brief interviews as Melvin tells it how it is.

2001 IFBB IRONMAN PRO INVITATIONAL PUMP ROOM

This prestigious event was held in the superb Redondo Beach Performing Arts Centre in front of a sell-out crowd. John Balik's Iron Man Pro Show kicked off the 2001 season with 24 fantastic competitors.

King Kamali said he would come into his first pro contest big and strong, and strong he did, scaring even the toughest around. However in the end, Chris Cormier repeated as champion of the first pro show of the year.

GMV shoots every Iron Man event with 2 broadcast cameras.

You will see pump room highlights from both our cameras. This is how the judges get to see and analyse each competitor's strengths and weaknesses.

Next the side stage front camera takes over showing superb CLOSEUP posing routines from the top 5 competitors, namely, CORMIER, ANTHONY, KAMALI, DAWODU and TITUS.

2007 Gaspari Nutrition Iron Man NPC Figure Competition

The 2007 GASPARI NUTRITION IRON MAN NPC FIGURE COMPETITION was once again a fantastic event. 20 top class athletes took to the stage at the FitExpo for the prejudging and then in the glamorous setting of the Pasadena Civic Center for the Finals.

As usual the battle was intense, with blond MONICA MARK emerging as the overall winner. There were 3 classes of competition - Short, Medium and Tall with every single round and all comparisons included in this DVD. It also includes the awards to the 3 class winners and the Peary Rader Lifetime Achievement Award which was accepted on the late Mickey Hargitay's behalf by his wife Ellen.

This event is often the precursor to a very successful pro career for the overall winner. The winner will later be featured on the cover of the Iron Man magazine.

1990 Iron Man Pro Invitational

The 1990 Iron Man Pro was an historic event being the first ever Iron Man Pro competition. SHAWN RAY has the distinction of being the inaugural Iron Man Pro Invitational winner. Of special note was the appearance of Gary Strydom making his last IFBB appearance before going on to be the 1991 and 1992 WBF champion.

HIDE YAMAGISHI - COLOSSAL WORKOUT

2007 was the year HIDETADA YAMAGISHI made history by becoming the FIRST EVER Japanese bodybuilder to qualify for the Mr. Olympia. Hide burst onto the scene after moving to the USA and training with the legendary Milos Sarcev at his Koloseum Gym in Fullerton. The cameras of GMV Productions caught Hide Yamagishi at the 4 major IFBB Pro shows in 2007, including the Sacramento Grand Prix in which he placed 3rd to qualify for the Mr. Olympia.

This massive workout feature is a fly-on-the-wall look at Hide's training in the lead up to his Pro show triumphs in early 2007. Witness the incredible super-sets that Milos uses to get Hide into the shape of his life. All the major body parts are trained and some of the giant sets include upwards of 10 different exercises without pause! As Milos says, "I have never ever seen any bodybuilder train harder than Hide Yamagishi".

THE WEIGH IN

Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Early Years DVD

** Approximately 109 minutes of Arnold **

A part from the 73 minutes of early contest and outdoor posing footage of Arnold and Franco, the bonus material from this collector's DVD includes more recent out-takes, on-stage and behind the scenes video from the Arnold Classic.

Firstly we see Arnold on stage in England aged 19 on the 28th of January 1967, doing curls and then guest posing. Next aged 20 while outdoors in a garden he pumps up with DB curls before posing. This includes closeups of his amazing arms and is the earliest Arnold colour footage we know of.

In 1970 you see Arnold as he wins his final NABBA Universe in the Pro class. Also seen briefly are Draper, Zane, Columbu, Coe, Beckles and more. This is followed by brief highlights from the 1970 Mr Olympia. The Olympia footage is poorly lit but included in the DVD as it is so rare. See Joe present the trophy to Arnold at this event.

A real highlight is Arnold guest posing aged 23 in USA along with Franco posing at the same event.

1972 poolside on the Gold Coast in sunny Australia, Arnold and Franco pump and pose both individually and duo in a superb in-depth segment including more great closeups of Arnold's huge arms. No other similar outdoor posing footage of Arnold was ever recorded in his career.

1972 was a very big year for Arnold as we see him defeat Sergio at the 72 Mr Olympia in Essen, Germany. This segment runs around 10 minutes and is the only known footage of the 1972 Mr Olympia event. Posing also by Serge Nubret, Franco Columbu and Arnold plus posedown and award for his 3rd Olympia crown.

In 1974 it was back to Australia again for more guest posing, this time at the IFBB Mr Southern Hemisphere contest, with posing also by the winner, Roger Walker, later 6th 1980 Mr Olympia.

Next we see Arnold posing at the 1975 Mr Olympia in South Africa, plus posing by Lou Ferrigno and Serge Nubret - the posedown and final award again to Arnold.

In 1980 Arnold made his comeback in Australia at the Mr Olympia contest held at the Sydney Opera House. It was to be Olympia victory # 7. See his solo posing, many comparisons, compulsory poses and more as Arnold once again stands victorious. Includes scenes of many of his closest rivals from Mentzer to Zane etc. A tour de force with Arnold, since voted the most popular bodybuilder of all time.
