Lee Priest - Best of Bodybuilders Reality Series 2 DVD Set.

In 2006, BodybuildersReality grabbed their video camera and took on the entertaining challenge of following the world’s most popular pro bodybuilder, Lee Priest.

The journey started in Texas and took them to such exotic places as Brazil, Alaska, Australia and Europe where Lee was treated like a rock star while competing in pro bodybuilding shows, putting on posing exhibitions, seminars and guest appearances.

1987 IFBB German Grand Prix (Autumn)

Held in Germany, an incredibly brilliant group of 20 top IFBB professionals gathered in the Essen at the Gruga-Halle, right next to the famous FIBO Expo Convention Centre. The date was November 1st, 1987 – on the day after the Mr. Olympia held in Sweden. It was almost a re-run of the Olympia contest!

These were the best pros from USA and Europe from the mid to late 80s. What a lineup and what a battle for supremacy between the top 3 in Haney, Gaspari and Labrada.
It was so close with Lee Haney - thanks to the help of his superb "V" shape and overall perfection - just toppling the massive and totally shredded physique of Rich Gaspari. Lee Labrada - "Mr. Symmetry" was also flawless in finishing a very close 3rd. This is rare closeup contest footage of these top champions in their all-time best condition.

The special bonus feature in the DVD is the PREJUDGING HIGHLIGHTS, in which you see comparisons between groups of 3 athletes, shot in tight closeups, doing compulsories. Great champions is fantastic shape, all shot with brilliant lighting. This is one of the best quality grand prix recordings of the eighties and as such is a DVD ahead of its time!

For the many Haney fans, it is one of the few DVDs showing LEE HANEY winning a Grand Prix at his peak. Not to be missed!

Such was the quality of this field, Lee Haney not only won this Grand Prix and many more, he ended up winning 8 Mr. Olympia titles. Gaspari and Labrada both were very worthy second place getters at the Mr. Olympia in their illustrious careers. The standard was so high that some of the other greats of the 80s did not make top 10, such as Bob Paris, Ed Kawak, Bertil Fox, Peter Hensel etc.

1971, 1972, 1973 NABBA Universes Revisited

See rare footage from these classic Universe contests that has never been seen before. The DVD includes such famous champions as - Frank Zane, Boyer Coe, Chris Dickerson, Bill Grant plus many more.

This priceless footage was discovered in our archives and is now presented for all of the fans who appreciate these very early Universe contests. Zane later went on to win 3 Mr. Olympia titles 1977-1979 and Chris Dickerson won the 1982 Mr. Olympia crown.

This unique footage, shot on film contains highlights and various clips of many of the best guys who competed in the NABBA Universe of these 3 years from 1971 to 1973. The RESULTS are listed below for the top guys in each class for each year. Naturally not all competitors are shown.

ROB MELLO – Cut to Perfection

Rob Mello was the 1993 NPC Nationals champion in the Middleweight Class, narrowly losing the overall title to Mike Francois. Rob was an outstanding amateur athlete in the 90s, gaining his pro card and making a significant mark on the pro scene.

In this DVD you will see all of the video recorded on Rob throughout his stellar career. He was rated as one of America’s best young bodybuilders in the early 90s with a flawless physique, notable for amazing symmetry and muscularity. See his gym workout in this condition in 1991.

You again see a shredded Rob in 1993 when he wins the NPC Nationals, showing his perfectly balanced physique and incredible abdominal development. Rob had a degree of separation rarely seen today. He would have been a star of the 202 Class if it had existed back then!

Chris Dickerson – 1982 Mr. Olympia: The Final Chapter

Those at the 2001 Mr Olympia heard Chris Dickerson sing in his fine operatic voice - now you can see him at his physical peak in 1982, on the night before he won the Mr. Olympia crown.

This is a rare gem of only 30 minutes, where he pumps, oils and poses in tank top and trunks.
Shot in our London studio, Chris was at his absolute physical peak as he prepared to take the Mr. Olympia title next day.

See many great closeups of this incredible physique. In particular Chris flexes those massive calves for our camera!

As far as we know this was the first and only time a feature film has been shot with a Mr. Olympia winner literally hours before the prejudging.

This was also the last time we worked with the great champion CHRIS DICKERSON, a multi Mr. Universe winner and now Mr. Olympia champion.

He announced his retirement at the end of the Olympia contest, paying tribute to his coach Bill Pearl. Fortunately for the fans, Chris subsequently competed for another 12 years.

A classic film to video transfer now on DVD, with music added. This was our historic last feature we shot on film before shooting on video from 1983 onwards.

THE 5 STRONGMAN EVENTS FOR 2010

1. Timber Lift - In this event, also known as the Farmer's Carry, contestants lift 865 lbs. of barn timbers bolted together. They have 30 sec. to carry the 865 lbs load up a 32 ft. inclined ramp.
2. Manhood Stones - Contestants lift round stones weighing up to 525 pounds over a bar approximately 48 inches high.
3. Apollon's Wheel -This unique barbell was made famous by turn-of-the-century strongman Louis "Apollon" Uni. The barbell resembles two train wheels welded (weights do not rotate) to a thick bar (1.92 inches in diameter) for a total weight of 366 lbs. Contestants will lift the wheels from the floor to overhead as many times as possible in two minutes.
4. Tire Deadlift - Contestants will lift a specially designed 14 foot long bar weighted with tires. Each tire weighs approx. 100 lbs, and the beginning weight will be approx. 750 lbs.
5. The Circus Dumbell - Contestants will lift a replica of a "Circus" dumbbell, which were used by professional Strongmen from the early 20th century. The dumbbell weighs 202 lbs. and has a very big handle which is 3 inches in diameter. The men will use one hand at a time and lift the dumbbell overhead as many times as possible in 90 sec.

This year, in addition to the Arnold Strongman Classic's traditional tests of total body strength, there was an entirely new feature for the crowds at the Arnold Fitness EXPO. This new feature, "Mighty Mitts," was sponsored by MHP, and it did not involve the Arnold Strongman competitors. Instead, it showcase ten men who are world-famous for the strength of their hands. The Grip Giants who have been selected to take part in this event are the very best in the world. It will be an extra attraction for fans of Strongman contests as well as for aficionados of "grip feats."

These men faced four challenges with $1,000 per event on offer. In our Extra Scenes we have included the 2 most visually exciting events, The Jowett Anvil and Sorin’s Monster. These challenges took place on the Expo Stage before and after the Strongman events.

The Mighty Mitts Challenges we included in the DVD for 2010 were these 2 strength feats:

1. THE JOWETT ANVIL.
In the early years of the 20th century, George F. Jowett was a very prominent figure in the physical culture world as a writer, lifter, strongman and promoter. One of the stunts for which he is most famous featured a large blacksmith's anvil, which he supposedly gripped by the horn with one hand, swung up to his shoulder, flipped so that he caught it upside down in his hand, and then pressed over his head. Jowett claimed to be the only man who could do this feat. However, leading strength historians are in agreement that Jowett, who was also famous for his exaggerations, never made such a lift. In any case, Jowett's own anvil will be used
in the challenge.

It weighs approximately 163 pounds and will be placed on the platform with its horn pointing upward. The challenge will be to simply grasp it by the horn with either hand, lift it off the ground and walk/run as far as possible forth and back across the front part of the 50' stage within 30 seconds. The prize-money ($1000) will go to the man who carries it the greatest distance. Only chalk will be allowed for this challenge and for all others.

2. SORIN'S MONSTER.
Richard Sorin, founder and owner of the Sorinex Equipment Company and himself one of the legends of hand strength, will provide a huge, circus-type barbell weighing approximately 500 pounds and featuring a bar two inches in diameter; this bar will not rotate within the spheres in any way. The challenge will be to deadlift the bar for as many repetitions as possible within 30 seconds using a double-overhand (pronated) grip.
Sumo and traditional deadlifting styles are both permitted and the bell may be "hitched" on the way up as long as the lifter is standing straight at the end of the lift. The barbell will have to touch the platform on every rep after the referee has given the "Down" signal, and a "hook grip" will not be allowed.

A contestant may put the barbell down between reps if he likes, or he may simply touch the platform before making another attempt to deadlift it. If no one deadlifts the Monster, the prize-money will be given to the man who pulls the bar the greatest distance off the platform, and if more than one person makes at least one successful lift and there is a tie in the number of reps the prize-money will be split.

Rich Williams won all 3 events. None of the competitors in the 2010 Mighty Mitts competition were able to lift the Mark Henry bell out of the box.

Jim Lorimer refers to the Arnold Sports Festival as "Strength Heaven," and the introduction of these unprecedented grip challenges has added a new attraction as well as a new dimension to the festival - an attraction which should stimulate strong men everywhere to push back the boundaries of hand strength.

2009 NEW YORK PRO FINAL RESULTS
"Centopani Wins In NY Pro, English Wins 202, LeFrancois Wins Women's."

In an impressive debut performance, Evan Centopani has won the 2009 IFBB New York Pro. Thanks to a powerful combination of size, shape, conditioning and presentation, the 27-year-old made for a popular winner with the New York City crowd. Along with an Olympia qualification the rookie pro takes home a cool $15k and a hefty NY Pro ring.

Coming in second was big Dennis James, who at 247 pounds was just a pound less than at the Arnold, but a whole lot tighter. Look for DJ to attempt to improve upon his placing in one to three shows (according to Dennis himself) prior to the Olympia.

A chorus of boos resounded through the halls of the Tribeca Performing Arts Center when Marcus Ruhl was announced in third. Always a popular performer, Ruhl didn't disappoint in terms of freak factor, but for fans of aesthetics, the Ruhl physique is lacking.

A slightly off Silvio Samuel finished fourth, uncharacteristically smooth and seemingly tired, or possibly dejected over his early low callout.

Hidetada Yamagishi, in one of his best performances to date, drew the last Olympia qualification of the evening, looking sharp and well-tanned.

So, add Evan Centopani and Marcus Ruhl to this year's Olympia lineup in a show that's shaping up to be one of the most competitive in its 44-year history.

FLEX would like to congratulate Evan Centopani on his win and congratulate promoter Steve Weinberger on yet another smooth and assured production here in New York, New York.

In what turned out to be an extremely competitive 202 division, New York's own Kevin English has taken top honors for a second consecutive year. Despite an imbalance between his right and left legs and a slightly watery midsection English is mighty impressive, carrying what looks more like 220 than 202 pounds of muscle on his frame. His chest is particularly improved and he sports an upper body reminiscent of the great Sergio Oliva's.

Finishing second in his second consecutive show was Mark Dugdale, with a shaved head and excellent conditioning. He'll never be the widest guy onstage, but when it comes to sharp muscularity he's hard to beat.

Last year's runner-up, Dave Henry, accepted third place honors to a rousing chorus of boos. While he had his usual upper body thickness on full display, the conditioning wasn't enough to place him higher.

For a second consecutive year Kevin English has put himself in position as a favorite for 202 Olympia honors. We'll all have to wait and see if he can carry his mid-season success through September.

In the women's competition Cathy LeFrancois repeated her victory here last year with a popular win in the Big Apple. With her good looks, refined musculature and omnipresent smile she won the hearts of the New York crowd and NY Pro judges alike.

Taking the runner-up spot was 53-year-old Betty Pariso, who seems to be getting more muscular with each passing year.

Right behind Pariso in third was the "Nubian Caribbean Queen", Rosemary Jennings, who is among the more muscular female competitors in bodybuilding today. With a polished presentation and no weak bodyparts she aslo put herself in good standing for the upcoming Olympia.

Conceive, Believe & Achieve starring Porter Cottrell

Porter Cottrell came to prominence in 1988 when he won the overall title at the NPC Junior National Championships. His next major victory was the light-heavyweight class at the 1991 NPC National Championships. Although he lost the Overall Title to Kevin Levrone, he still achieved IFBB Professional status.

IFBB Superstar PORTER COTTRELL takes us through his journey from skinny teenager to top-ranked professional competitor. The man with the Hollywood looks! He demonstrates the training routine that sculpted his championship form, discusses the emotional and attitudinal factors so essential to success, and talks about his belief that a well-rounded life outside the gym translates into better progress inside the gym.

Porter Cottrell talks about his work as a fireman at the beginning of the video. He also shows himself as a 17 year old and says he wasn't big and muscular back then. However he was genetically gifted with great shoulders and a big build. He explains how hard he has worked to achieve his physique. Porter does mention that it is genetics that determine how far you may to go in the sport.

Included in the DVD is a trip to the gym with Porter where he shows us his style and form when training with some pumping and tensing thrown in. He explains his training philosophy in its simple, most basic form: "Quality, not quantity".

You also see an overview of his career up to the time of the making of the original video, and hear of his work as a fireman. Typical of Porter's total professionalism in all he does, you see the Cottrell physique in great shape, big and ripped.

The DVD does include B&W segments for special effect. It is a rare privilege to observe a great pro bodybuilder who has managed to combine a sensible bodybuilding lifestyle with a healthy outlook on life.

I first started competing in 2003 and since then I have competed around 16 times. I started seriously training around 8 years ago. So from that day I decided I would compete and after around 9 months I decided to enter my first show which out of 13 competitors, I won.

Later that year I was invited to compete in the NABBA UK First Timers finals which I also won.
A week after that victory I entered my first IFBB show (UKBFF) and won the Intermediate category which gave me an invite to the UKBFF British Finals in 2004.

About half way through 2004 I decided that I would enter another qualifier so I could compete in the Men's Middleweight category and not the Intermediate Class. I won the qualifier then went on to take 3rd in the Men's Middleweight class at the British Championships - I was totally stoked!!

In 2005 I came back again after qualifying late in 2004, again as a Middleweight. This I won again, and it enabled me to compete in the 2005 British Finals. I won the Middleweight British title this year but missed out on the overall title.

In 2006 I took a little time away from the IFBB and competed with WABBA where I won the British Title and the Overall and came 5th in the World Championships in the Short Class.

In 2007 I decided I wanted to come back into the IFBB, so I had to re-qualify to compete at the finals. I again won my qualifier, this time as a Light heavyweight and then came runner up to Flex Lewis in the Light heavyweight category at the British Finals.

In 2008 I teamed up with Flex's mentor, Neil Hill. He took me back down to being a Middleweight again and I won the Middleweight title once again.
However this time I took the Overall British Champion title and with it the single pro card that the UK give out each year!

That now brings us up to date.

After 5 years of competing and doing numerous guest spots I decided that I would take 2009 out of the competitive arena and spend time growing my PT and Nutritionist business. As a result I am training and looking after around 12 athletes this year, so it’s keeping me very busy. My pro career will kick off next year, 2010, when I hit the 202 class and I can't bloody wait.

I am 5'4" and sitting at around 200lbs at the moment. I have competed as heavy as 196lbs and as light as 175lbs last year. For my first pro show I will be around 7-10lbs heavier but with the conditioning that helped me win the overall last year.

So that’s pretty much it.

NUTRITION
My diet is generally 7 meals daily which includes my PWO shake, so 6 solid meals daily.
The first phase was really to get me eating a lot of food regularly to get my metabolism running. I like my food and have no problem eating, but Neil actually made me eat more! I kept saying 'I don’t feel like I am dieting' and he always said 'make the most of it, it wont last!!!'
He was right, by 3-4 weeks out I was doing 2 hours of cardio daily and eating very few carbs. I used to fantasize about my cheat meal as soon as the last one was eaten!!
The diet was very balanced and included fruit, veg, various protein and carb sources including whole-wheat bread, steak, oily fish, oats, sweet potato etc.

My training has always been basic. Off season I train each body part every 10 days but pre contest I train with a more conventional 7 day split.
I like to train hard and heavy and for only around 40-50 mins. I go to failure on 1 set only as a general rule, and do anywhere between 6 and 12 sets per body part, and generally 8-15 reps (more for legs though).

Neil works solely on weight loss. He gave me a target each week and I knew with my protein high that the weight I was losing was mainly fat. I had to come in around 14lbs lighter than in 2007 so I did lose a little muscle too. He believes in depleting the body right down, then heavily loading for the last 3-4 days prior to a show. Man, I was sick of carbs after the load, I just wanted a steak and salad!!

I spent this weekend with him and yet again he ruined me in the gym. He is a wonderful family man and Neil his wife and children came over to us for a meal, and then the next night he cooked for me and my wife; a nice traditional roast chicken with rhubarb crumble for pudding!!! He likes his off season!! LOL!!

DIET TO GAIN SIZE
Here is a plan that I would advocate to anyone wanting to pack on some size. It may be too carb heavy for some of you, but for me it works a treat.
If you like your food, then you'll like this one!

5.30am Rise

6.30am CARDIO (20 mins)

Meal 1 (8am) 100g oats, 70g whey protein, 50g granola, 20g raisins, 20g cashew nuts, 250ml semi skimmed milk, apple.

9.30am TRAIN

Meal 2 (10am-11am) 5 whole eggs, 3 pieces of whole wheat bread SWAPPED FOR 55g Whey Isolate, 60g WMS on training days.

Meal 3 (1pm) 200g chicken, 70g basmati rice, veg, pineapple 10g olive oil.

Meal 4 (3pm) 240g salmon, 300g sweet potato, veg, pineapple.

Meal 5 (5pm) 70g of MP Total protein, 400ml semi skimmed milk, 50g oats. (Blended) plus banana OR 5 whole eggs, 3 pieces of whole wheat bread, pineapple.

Meal 6 (7pm) 250g steak, 300g potatoes, vegetables, yoghurt with 1 scoop of whey Protein, pineapple.

Meal 7 (10pm) 100g oats, 70g Whey Protein, 50g granola, 20g cashew nuts, 250ml semi skimmed milk. (same as breakfast)

10.30-11.00pm Retire

Meal 8 (2am) 50g oats, 40g Whey Protein, 200ml semi skimmed milk, tablespoon of peanut butter.

I drink freely during the day and never have a fixed amount that I set myself to drink. It would never be less than 4 litres daily and would be water or sugar free squash.

This year I have been a lot more instinctive about my diet and if I am hungry, I will eat more and vice versa. However, I will always make sure I get my protein requirements in each meal even if the carbs are reduced or increased.

I am a big believer in variety and eat whole foods where possible. In the off season you will use a few more whey and MRP supplements just to get the required food input, but pre contest its all solid except PWO.

I use multi vit/minerals as well as a super B complex plus a pre workout creatine/NOX formula. Apart from that I use very few supplements in the off season as my diet has pretty much everything in it I need.

Muscletime Titans Vol. 6 - Gustavo Badell - The Challenger

Gustavo Badell is the man who beat Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler in the 2005 Mr. Olympia Challenge round!! The DVD was filmed a few days out from the 2006 Arnold Classic in Gustavo's home town of Las Vegas. Also see bonus footage from the 2004 GNC and back stage at the 2006 Arnold Classic contests.

Gustavo Badell Bio:

Gustavo Badell was born on November 3, 1972 in Venezuela. He currently resides in Puerto Rico with his wife and two kids. Gustavo stands only 5'8" but weighs in on stage at a ripped 240 pounds. Of course, Gustavo must do a clean bulk prior to a contest where his weight can get as high as 270 pounds. He still keeps a low bodyfat during his pre-contest bulk, which is why Gustavo can easily switch from off-season to pre-contest mode very easily.

At the age of 15, Gustavo was actively involved with contact sports such as boxing and kickboxing. Two years later he started becoming involved with amateur boxing but was too skinny make a name for himself. His trainer suggested that he should start weight lifting to put on weight, and he then followed the rigors of an intense workout. After noticing his great genetics, and arms that were almost too big for his body, his fellow gym members suggested that he should get into bodybuilding. Gustavo never thought twice!

Gustavo`s bodybuilding career started slowly, but once he found a better rythm for himself, he has become one of the better pro bodybuilders in the IFBB.

2010 NABBA MISS BRITAIN FINALS PREJUDGING and SHOW

The 2010 NABBA Miss Britain Finals was held in Southport, England on the 29th of May. There were 3 FIGURE CLASSES being TONED FIGURE and TRAINED FIGURE CLASSES 1 and 2.
This DVD presents the complete prejudging and show with all the posing routines and all the comparisons through to the final awards and Overall Trained Figure posedown and award to Rosanna Harte who represented the North East.

MISS TONED FIGURE
The winner of this very high standard class of 18 was the amazing NATALIE WOOD - North West, with RIA WARD – North East in second place and the outstanding Scot LYNN CARMICHAEL in 3rd place.

MISS TRAINED FIGURE CLASS 2
In first place was the dynamic poser, ROSANNA HARTE – North East, who displayed to perfection her flawless symmetry, and outstanding condition. It was obvious from her routine that Rosanna has also had training in ballet dancing such was the style and charisma she brought to her performance. I have seen none better! In second place was MICHELLE CALLAGHAN – also North East with GAIL BELLINGHAM - Midlands taking out an excellent 3rd place.

MISS TRAINED FIGURE CLASS 1
This was a tough class of 9 outstanding Figure competitors with JODY SHUTTLEWORTH – North East overpowering the rest of the class with her size, shape and condition. In second place in the best shape of her life, it was REBECCA WILLIAMS – North East and in 3rd place a very impressive and greatly improved DANIELLE FINDLAY – Midlands. What made it even more impressive for Danielle was her beating last year winner in JO SPERRING – West, who had to settle for 4th place.

The OVERALL TRAINED FIGURE MISS BRITAIN title went to ROSANNA HARTE.

PREJUDGING & FINALS

This inaugural Stryker Pro event in Arizona was staged by StrykerX Productions in the magnificent Ikeda Theatre at the Mesa Arts Center. It was presented in front of a large and appreciative audience.

Prejudging commenced with the 202 Class followed by the prejudging of 27 outstanding bodybuilders in the Open Men’s Pro Class. All comparisons for each class are included in the DVD.

The evening finals soon got down to business with the posing routines of the 202 Class followed by the routines by the Open Class men, followed by all the awards for both classes.
It was a wonderful victory for MELVIN ANTHONY over HIDETADA YAMAGISHI with TONEY FREEMAN in third place.

In the 202 Class it was a first ever Pro victory for the very deserving ROC SHABAZZ. Second placed Ahmad Ahmad also displayed fantastic shape and great condition.

Once again, this was shot in the studio on the actual day that KONSTANTINE SPANOUDIS won the 1981 Overall Teen Mr. USA title.

Kon also won the light-Heavyweight Class in this event. The previous year Konstantino (as he is now called) won the 1980 Mr. Eastern America - AAU, Teen Tall Class.

He is ripped, showing incredible shape, and was the sensation of the contest – a solid and clear winner who immediately captured the audience.

1995 NABBA World Championships - The Show Men & Women

Held in beautiful sunny Malta in the Mediterranean, the 1995 Worlds proved to be a stunning success for everyone involved. It was also a superb success for Malta's son in Charles Duca who took the Overall Men's title. Charles was born and raised in Malta before moving to Australia.

There was a second World Title for Australia with Don Mahoney taking a well earned victory in the Masters Class.

In the Women's classes, the Overall Physique Winner was Cathy Butler - USA, with the Overall Figure Winner being Claudia Roehrs - Germany.

2010 NABBA/WFF ADELAIDE GRAND PRIX BODYBUILDING, FIGURE AND FITNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS

This was Terri Robert's first outing as a show promoter, and she showed she definitely has what it takes. This inaugural event was spectacular to say the least in its format and presentation, and it was only outshone by the superlative condition of the lineup. Rarely have we seen such an array of stars on an Adelaide stage. The cream of the South Australian bodybuilding community took to the stage, and mixed it up with the likes of Loretta McMillan who made a comeback to end all comebacks.

1987 NABBA UNIVERSE: THE WOMEN - PREJUDGING & SHOW

What a superb line-up of top women at bodybuilding's premier amateur event of the year!! This prestigious event, staged in London on September 12th at Wembley, was split into 2 separate classes for women.

For the first time in NABBA history the Professional Class was held on a separate day at a different venue to the 1987 NABBA Amateur Universe. This year the 1987 NABBA Professional Mr. Universe contest was held in Yorkshire, northern England. That date was 26th September, 2 weeks after the NABBA Amateur Mr & Miss Universe.

This was the year when the powerful USA women's physique team took the top 2 spots in that class. It was a first and has never been approached since.

This was the second year that the women's competition was split into two classes - FIGURE and PHYSIQUE. Connie McCloskey of U.S.A. won the Physique Class and Sonia Walker of England won Figure Class.

Donna Hartley-Wass of UK also competed in the Physique section and placed third. This gained an enormous amount of positive publicity for NABBA in the UK Press because Donna was a highly acclaimed track and field athlete who had been awarded the O.B.E. She had a truly superb physique as well!!

This contest was also notable for the presence of the beautiful Italian Tania Panza - she only placed 5th, but was one of the very first girls to wear a G-string on-stage. This contest is the longest running Pro show after the Olympia and the Arnold Classic. Our congratulations to Tony Doherty for making this event such a huge success.

The star competitors included KAI GREENE who the week before won his second Arnold Classic. Also the 2008 Mr. Olympia DEXTER JACKSON, the Dutch sensation ROELLY WINKLAAR, Aussie star MICHAEL KEFALIANOS, plus winner of the best posing routine award in Melbourne - and the recent 2010 Phoenix Pro winner MELVIN ANTHONY, and new guy on the block with the Platz thighs - from USA GRIGORI ATOYAN.

Kai Greene of the United States won the Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition at the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival. A check for $130,000 was presented by Gerard Dente of MHP, a trophy was presented by Tim Bentley of GNC, an Audemars Piquet watch by Rhett Ricart, and a Tony Nowak jacket and congratulations from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kai Greene also won the Most Entertaining Posing Award and a $10,000 check and trophy presented by Josef Kagerbauer of Joska Crystal. Branch Warren of the United States was awarded the Most Muscular Man Trophy presented by Rich Gaspari of Gaspari Nutrition."

Product Review: Mark is Numbero 202!

Written by Steve Colescott, Guerrilla Journalist.

The fourth in the Dugdale series, "Numero 202" presents a candid look at the symmetrical bodybuilder's preparations for the Under-202 Olympia. With equal parts information and inspiration, this DVD shares a well-told story enhanced by high production quality and a likeable cast of heroes.

The primary supporting roles are those of his family, particularly his beautiful wife Christina. I like to see elite level lifters that can balance a normal life with their pursuit of their sport. While the concept of a hardcore musclehead living out his their car, scraping by to make it, may seem hardcore... if done for a number of years, it has a sad delusional quality. Dugdale has a real non-fitness career and puts family first and they all work together to help him achieve his best. It is obvious that he is doing things for the betterment of his wife and kids, rather than making his family do without so that he can chase personal glory.

Dugdale's physique possesses a nice blend of shapely aesthetics and freaky mass, so he can appeal to almost any bodybuilding fan. He is in great shape in this video (obviously shot in the final stages of his Olympia prep), so the gym training sequences will get you psyched before heading out to handle your own training.

While it is obvious that he is training for feel, Mark also is not afraid to get under a heavy load. He squats with six plates for four reps (to parallel) and deadlifts with four plates on his back day for fairly high, slow controlled reps. He has obviously put a lot of thought into his training and nutrition. I would have enjoyed a voice-over to hear why he has structured his workouts as he has, and some performance cues but, as I have never seen any of his previous DVDs, this may have already been covered. As someone that managed a very strict World Gym in my college years, my only real critique is that he was wearing his belt while doing lying leg curls. "Easy on the upholstery there, buddy!"

"Numero 202" cuts back and forth between four different training segments, views of Dugdale's work and family life and cooking segments. This is a wise move since 90-minutes of training would make even the most ardent teenage fan drift off. I am someone that likes to cook since I believe a little culinary knowledge makes bodybuilding nutrition easier to stick to and seem more like a treat than a punishment. The cooking segments, both with Mark and with his wife Christina (did I mention that she is beautiful), were excellent. I picked up a few things I plan to incorporate into my own routine. Sometimes you don't even realize your eating has become stagnant until you are presented with other options.

The only critique I could dredge up on this DVD is that he started out with a cooking segment, which seemed a bit low-energy. Perhaps a voice-over with a video montage in the background could have gotten viewers up to speed on when the DVD was taking place, and may have been a better choice? Did this minor grievance take away from my enjoyment of the DVD? Not really.

Dugdale runs down his rather extensive supplement regimen. As a Nutrex-sponsored athlete, he obviously uses their products liberally. It was nice to see that he also went over a handful of compounds that he cherry-picked from various companies for their health-promoting benefits. (Although I did notice he neglected to credit Beverly International for their Muscularity BCAA product that we see him using earlier during his workout). His knowledge on supplements is impressive and his rationale for his choices is clearly explained.

Those of us that have seen a few of these DVDs will find his attention to preventative medicine to be informative and refreshing. We get to see Dugdale's visit to his chiropractor for Active Release Therapy as well as a visit to a different doctor for intravenous therapy. He undergoes an IV push; two syringes full of high-potency vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and co-factors to support his immune system and the healing response.

In the DVD extras, we are treated to out-takes from his last DVD (including a short interview with Dorian Yates and a view of Zack Khan), seven different posing routines (you can see his progress from a teen to a top pro) and some more recipes from his beautiful (have I mentioned that) wife Christina. It is very obvious that Mark wanted his fans to feel they got their money's worth on this DVD and he sure delivered!

If you are looking for some good info from a knowledgeable source, I could not recommend this DVD more strongly.

After watching it, you will be motivated to hit the gym to put into practice what you learned. You will also know why Jay Cutler was able to become the first bodybuilder in history to reclaim the Mr. Olympia after losing it and why Phil Heath was able to finish 5th despite having food poisoning the morning of prejudging.

REGIANE DA SILVA - IFBB FITNESS PRO - THE LATIN SENSATION

Regiane Da Silva burst onto the Professional scene in 2006, after a stellar rise through the amateur ranks. She has competed in USA since 2006, where her career has taken off. Her best placing ever was 4th last year at the Arnold Classic Fitness International, but who knows where this amazing athlete will place this year.

The DVD follows Regiane through her career starting in 2002 at FIBO in Germany. We are taken through a full-body workout in her own gym, and see all her professional career highlights from 2006 to 2009.

Next our cameras follow her through photo shoots in Germany and Las Vegas – this is one HOT lady! The Las Vegas poolside pumping and posing was shot on the day after the Fitness Olympia. Regiane is in sensational shape.

This DVD is topped off with a brief interview with John Hansen and intimate pump room footage at the 2009 Fitness Olympia, plus the prejudging and show routines from the same event. (With posing highlights of most of the guys)

We bring you the complete unedited and unexpurgated interviews of all 16 competitors except Pavel Jablonicky who spoke only in Czech. During each interview you will see close-up posing clips of that competitor which Wayne shot back stage in the photo booth and pump up area.

Some very controversial comments were made at times!

Of special note is the Chris Cormier interview and posing. We feel that this is possible the best and sharpest we have ever seen Chris look. He was awesome! Nasser also said some controversial and funny things. This is a rare gem of a DVD not to be missed.

This Mr. Olympia was the first to be held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas. It was one of the best organized and attended Olympias in history. The venue was completely sold out, with hundreds trying to get tickets at the last minute. When Ronnie was proclaimed Mr. Olympia for the second time, Flex Wheeler turned around on stage, and took off his medals, and then put his hand up proclaiming that he was really #1.

60 Year History of the NABBA Universe 1950 - 2010 2 DVD SET

Reminiscences by Ivan Dunbar “A Tremendous Time”.

NABBA is the first and original international bodybuilding association. Commencing in 1950, NABBA's first Mr Universe contest was won by Steve Reeves (pictured left) who defeated Reg Park.

Some of the other great legends of the sport besides Reeves who won the Mr Universe title include Reg Park, Bill Pearl and Arnold Schwarzenegger (four-times winner).

The 1948 Universe was sponsored by Health & Strength magazine and it was staged by its Health Strength League. It was won by John Grimek who defeated Steve Reeves.

This fantastic trip down memory lane is narrated by IVAN DUNBAR who is the only person to have attended every single Universe contest from 1948 to 2008. Ivan was World President of NABBA International till he sadly passed away 10th August, 2009.

We updated the interviews with Ivan at the October 2008 Universe. We have been working on this massive 6 HOUR DVD set since then.

Ivan talks of the highlights over the years, with interesting and amusing stories about many of the famous names.

Names such as John Grimek, Clarence Ross, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chet Yorton, Dave Draper, Charles Clairmonte (four-times winner), Bill Pearl (pictured left, another 4-times winner), Frank Zane, John Citrone, John Terilli, Lance Dreher, Ed Kawak, Eddy Ellwood and many more.

In the last section of the DVD, Ivan pays tribute to the amazing women of the Universe.

Ivan also pays tribute to Oscar Heidenstam, who for 34 years ran the Universe shows until he died in 1991.

Throughout this massive DVD set you will see posing clips and photos of many of these great stars as they are mentioned - from Grimek and Arnold right up to present day champions such as Eddy Ellwood, Ed Kawak, Salvatori Orazio, Hassan Alsaka, Tomas Bures to Martin Kasal.

There have been so many great champions it was difficult selecting the cover images. However all champions are included in the PHOTO GALLERY.

Eddy Ellwood holds the record with 5 successive victories. Ed Kawak also achieved 5 victories over a period of years.

This DVD set is dedicated to the memory of Ivan Dunbar, RIP. Without his input, help and support, this set would not have existed.

Our first video was originally released as "History of the NABBA Universe: 1948 to the Present".

It still includes the 1948 Universe reference of course and this initial version has been retitled to become Disc #1 in the 2 DVD set covering all years from 1948 to 2009 inclusive, see content details below.

The initial interviews with Ivan were recorded in Birmingham on the 2nd and 3rd of October 1997 on the eve of the 1997 Universe. They cover the Universe contest from 1948 to 1996 inclusive.

We updated the interviews with Ivan at the October 2008 Universe in Southport, taking up from the 1997 Universe onwards.

The special tribute to Ivan Dunbar by Nigel Gordon-Rae at the 2009 NABBA Universe is included in Disc #2, followed by posing clips of all of the 2008 and 2009 Universe winners.

There is also a special tribute to Reg Park by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Reg was Arnold's inspiration in his bodybuilding career.

Eduardo Correa – Revealed! Training & Shredded Posing

Eduardo Correa won his debut Pro contest, the 2009 IFBB Pittsburgh Pro 202 event and is destined for much greater honours. He is also a NABBA Universe winner from his Junior competition days.

He is one of the most outstanding new young physique stars to come on the scene in many years. His physique looks like it has been carved out of granite, with rock hard muscularity, bulging veins, great size and symmetry, “striations on his striations” and leg and back development the envy of Mr. Olympia competitors. To top it all off, his Latin good looks!

This DVD was shot immediately after Eduardo placed 3rd in the 2009 Olympia 202 Showdown. Please click here to see him in the 2009 Mr. Olympia DVD, PCB-1326DVD.

Day 1 was his shredded poolside posing, tensing and pumping in the brilliant Las Vegas sunshine.

Day 2 was his full body hardcore workout where he used his usual heavy weights, turning on a virtuoso training performance in the gym. We have not shot with anyone in this 100% contest condition in years. It was an awesome physical display.

Eduardo has sensational leg development with ripped, massive quads and fully rounded hamstrings along with good calves. His posing style is powerful and aggressive to match his outstanding physique. In Eduardo’s first professional contest in the 2009 Pittsburgh 202, he surprised the highly credentialed MARK DUGDALE and very experienced JASON ARNTZ by finishing in front of them.

In 2002 the writing was on the wall that Eduardo was going to be a serious threat in the open ranks. When he won the 2002 NABBA Junior Mr. Universe, he was a class above all the other competitors with his mature, ripped physique. Then in 2007 he won the IFBB World Championships and followed this up by winning his class at the 2008 Arnold Classic Amateur Contest. His 3rd placing in his first Olympia 202 Showdown was thoroughly deserved and augurs well for the future.

2009 WFF World Championships - The Women & Couples

Held in Lebach, Germany, on 31st October, 2009, this major international bodybuilding and fitness event attracted an outstanding quality field of competitors from around the world. The WOMEN’S DVD covers all the action from the Women's Classes listed below and the Couples Class:

The DVD includes the 3 complete rounds for every class, including the posing routines of every single competitor along with the awards and overall section posedown where relevant.

Of particular interest is the emerging new Russian star in the WOMEN SUPERBODY CLASS by the name of Zhavora. From the body language of the Russian runner up, Natalia Zhavora, she felt that the judges had a bad day in placing Kristina Kudynova ahead of her. Even though she looks unhappy in our photo taken at the awards, we are using it any way on the front cover (left) to show what outstanding potential she has and what a physique this young lady has already achieved. I feel she is a future NABBA Universe Class winner with her symmetrical shape, clean lines, muscularity and excellent genetics.

Countries to dominate at this year's contest were Lithuania and Slovenia. This was an amazing effort from such small countries. The contest was expertly run and promoted by Tamara Konz.

(PHOTO EXPLANATION: I arranged before the event with the WFF President, Klaus Hoffmann to obtain a complete set of all the photos from him, taken by his official photographer Frank Altenheimer. I regret that only some individual photos of class winners were received. I had a premonition that this may happen and fortunately I was able to grab some photos during the event at the same time that I was shooting the DVDs. This is a risky thing to do and I will not do it again!

I had further good luck in that a photographer in the audience approached me and offered to help me out in taking over my still camera. 1995 NABBA Universe: The Men - Prejudging

This year we did something special to mark the 25th time we have covered the NABBA Universe on film or video.

The first was back in 1970 when the winners were Arnold Schwarzenegger (Professional), Frank Zane (Amateur) and Christine Zane in the women's event.

Held in Birmingham, UK on October 14th in the wonderful I.C.C., we had two camera crews covering the 150 competitors and the day's proceedings. You will see pump room action (men and women), interviews with the top competitors and a 2 camera production at the Evening Show.

We also produced the video some of you saw on Eurosport TV in UK and Europe - another first for the NABBA Universe!

The DVD includes some pump room action, and interviews. However, we have a new format for the Men's Prejudging DVD.

There is the usual Round 1 (symmetry). However, in response to customer demand, we have included EXTRA round 3 (comparisons) and only the posing routines of those who did not make it into the top 6.

Some Major Highlights Include:

Pax Beale from USA - The oldest competitor ever at 65 years.
John Citrone winning consecutive Masters titles. Amazing condition! 34 years in competition!
Grant Clemesha winning the first ever overall Amateur Mr. Universe title by an Australian. He is still the only such winner as at 2008.
Brian Buchanan (ex British competitor - now Australian) making it the men's double for Australia winning the Professional Universe. His last contest was the 1988 Mr. Olympia.
Shane Stratton winning the class title for Australia.
Mike King (UK) and Dennis James (USA) - now a top Pro, were other class winners.

This is the longest running and most prestigious event in the history of bodybuilding! The line stretches from Grimek and Reeves through Schwarzenegger to Grant Clemesha, Australia's first overall Amateur Men's winner in 1995.

DVD Review by Matt Canning:

Overall, I felt that his was an incredibly well produced DVD. That sort of suprised me because at the time the DVD was shot (and the time this review was uploaded - July 2005), Abbas was still an amateur bodybuilder. The amazing thing is that this DVD was better produced than some DVDs from pro bodybuilders that I've seen - incredible. There is background music playing the whole time and it is artistic going back from full colour training scenes to black and white posing scenes.

All in all, this is a great DVD. Abbas also has a very charismatic, aggressive, and dominant personality. He would probably do incredibly well in the WWE. He is the type of outspoken person who draws people with his charisma. He's definitely a good public speaker and the possessor of many sound training principles, and knows how to apply and explain them. If you are a fan of bodybuilding videos or want to learn more about high intensity training (HIT), then this DVD is definitely for you. It is made by the same producer who produced Mike Mentzer's HIT DVD (2001).

Classic Collection # 4

This latest DVD in our Classic Collection series features the stars of the seventies in our priceless collection of the greatest names of the period. Kal Szkalak, Lee Haney as a Teenager, Sergio Oliva, Frank Zane versus Boyer Coe at the NABBA Universe, Bill Grant and many more. There is very little footage of Kal Szkalak available making this DVD a rare treat for Szkalak fans.

Seeing Lee Haney as a teenager reminds you of the enormous promise and potential he had back then which enabled him to later set the record (now shared by Ronnie Coleman), for the most Mr Olympia victories at 8.

Most of this rare film footage was shot by Wayne Gallasch in the early to mid 70s. In some instances it is the only known film of some of these stars. Background music added.

Held in Nottingham, Britain’s best bodybuilders gathered to battle it out for the much sought after Pro cards, along with the prestige of the National titles.

This year we have split the men into 2 separate prejudging DVDs as there are so many outstanding physiques. In addition, the Prejudging is the only time you will see all the competitors pose. Only the winners get to pose at the evening show.
